Now that figs are coming into season why not sweeten your salad up with a fresh fig vinaigrette.
6 fresh figs
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoon olive oil

Yummers! I love how figs can go savory. Would be great on a salad with sheep's cheese and walnuts, eh? My favorite sweet way to eat figs is in a tart or just cut up and drizzled with cream. But savory, I'd have to say wrapped with prosciutto and grilled on a skewer. Dates are good that way if you stuff them with goat cheese... OK now I need a second lunch...
